Heat resistance modification of PVC Granules

PVC is very widely used in the building and construction industry due to excellent mechanical properties at a lower cost. However, with heat distortion temperature of about 70 degree C, PVC cannot be used at elevated temperatures. In fact, PVC tends to lose its mechanical strength at 50 degree C.

Although PVC is widely used, its disadvantages are obvious, including but not limited to heat resistance.So it is often used in practical use to include stabilizers, lubricants, auxiliary processing agents, color materials, anti-impact agents and other additives.The performance of PVC granules after modified injection is better, which is more in line with the standard of industrial production.

 

PVC  profiles are required to withstand higher temperatures, particularly in the tropical regions. Many times Acrylic cap stock material is used over the PVC profiles to provide weather resistance. Heat resistance modifier

Heat resistant modifier is a kind of polymer which has high heat resistance for the development of PVC heat resistance.

 

SMA (styrene maleic anhydride copolymer),SMA polymers with a high molecular weight are widely used in engineering plastic applications, normally in the impact modified and optional glass fibre filled variants. Alternatively, SMA is applied using its transparency in combination with other transparent materials like PMMA or the heat resistancy to heat-boost other polymers materials like ABS or PVC.

 

S700N,A widely used thermal modifier

Advantages: Improve the temperature resistance of engineering plastics such as abs; improve the temperature resistance of pvc products.

Applications: rigid pvc sheet; pvc and engineering plastics for automobiles; heat-resistant parts and covers for electrical equipment; thermoformed parts requiring good pattern retention.

 

ABS type heat resistant modifier: A15, A50B, A10 .

 

MBS type heat resistant modifier: mitsubishi H602, 605, 632.

Also, ELIX200, 300;

Also can add inorganic filler to PVC,it can improve the heat resistance of PVC.

The commonly used fillings include: heavy calcium carbonate, light calcium carbonate, precipitation calcium carbonate, calcined pottery, barium sulfate, red mud, titanium self-powder, etc.
