PVC (POLYVINYLCHLORIDE) is one of the most common polymers and it is processed by several different methods. It accounts for about 25% of total production of the most widely used thermoplastics (polyethylene, polypropylene, plastics containing styrene and PVC). To modify and improve its technical properties, many additives are used, and among these plasticizers are common: the typical amounts of plasticizer are around 30%, but they may rise to 70% of the total weight of the material.

The characteristics of the PVC granules

The fact that PVC is widely used for the production of many different objects shows how its intrinsic characteristics are extremely useful and special.

Density: PVC is very dense compared to most plastics (specific gravity around 1.4)

Economics: PVC is readily available and cheap.

Hardness: Rigid PVC is very hard.

Strength: Rigid PVC has extremely good tensile strength.

The production of the PVC granules

PVC granules must be produced in a dedicated factory. We have a complete set of production equipment and processes.

The first stage of the manufacturing of PVC granules consists of the creation of long tubes of material made through a special extrusion plant. The next step consists of cutting the plastic in really small beads. Although PVC processing has certain professionalism, it is relatively safe.the workers in the PVC plastics processing industry are exposed to some contaminants, but at levels not exceeding the current threshold limits, under normal process conditions.
